Energy

Why am I so tired?

Fatigue has a lot of possible causes. A provider can help you figure out which one is yours.

Start with a consult. You don’t need a diagnosis to book one.

Where low energy actually comes from

Most people have already decided why they’re tired. Not enough sleep. Too much work. Getting older. Sometimes that’s right. Sometimes fatigue is connected to something else that a provider can treat.

01

Sleep

You can be in bed eight hours and still wake up tired. How well you sleep matters as much as how long, and disrupted sleep can go on for months without anyone catching it.

02

Nutrition

What you eat affects your energy directly. Low protein, low iron, and low B12 are common, they’re measurable, and they’re treatable.

03

Hormones

Testosterone, thyroid, and the hormone changes of perimenopause and menopause all affect energy. Fatigue is often the first symptom people notice and the one most often attributed to something else.

04

Weight and treatment

Energy can shift during weight loss or after starting a new medication. It’s worth telling your provider, because it can usually be addressed.

Prescription options

Prescription options may include compounded medications. Compounded drugs are permitted under federal law but are not FDA-approved and are not reviewed by the FDA for safety, effectiveness, or quality. Prescription required after provider evaluation. Not available in all states.

How care at Ivím works

  1. Tell us what’s going on.

Your health history, what you’ve been noticing, and what you want to work on.

  2. Meet your provider.

A licensed Ivím provider reviews it with you and talks through what’s worth looking at.

  3. Get a plan built for you.

Treatment when it’s appropriate, along with guidance on nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress.

  4. Keep going.

Your care team stays with you between visits, and your plan changes as your needs do. Ivím membership gives you access to your care team and to Ivím’s programs. Medication is billed separately.

“When someone tells me they’re exhausted, I don’t assume I already know why. Some people live with being tired for years because they’ve decided it’s just age or stress. Sometimes it is. Sometimes it’s something we can find and treat. You don’t have to just push through it.”
